I am fascinated by the living world and, therefore, always had a keen interested for biology. I started my academic
education with a B.Sc in biology at the University of Franche-Comté in Besançon, France, where I specialised in the study
of ecology.
I, then, joined the Biodiversity Ecology and Evolution (BEE) M.Sc at Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France,
during which I developed a special interest in evolutionary biology. Over this 2-year master I had the opportunity to work
on the evolutionary history of the varied sexual reproductive systems observed within the olive family, and on the
parallel evolution of C4 photosynthesis across the grass family.
I continued my academic journey by starting a PhD at Laval University, Québec, Canada. The subject of my PhD was the evaluation of the effect of naturally occuring
disruptive genetic variants on poplar's wood properties. During this PhD I considerably developed my knowledge in genomics
as well as my bioinformatics skills.
After completing my PhD, I started a postdoc at Laval University. I currently work on the
genomics of the bacteria responsible for Lyme disease. We use long read sequencing to reconstruct the very complex genomes
of this tick-borne pathogen in order to study the geographical spread and virulence of different strains.
